In my last two blogs I mentioned the opportunities for manipulating pagerank. Of course it is possible to do so, but you should also be aware that companies like Google are doing anything they can to prevent this to make sure their method is still considered credible. Some pages with high pagerank are actually offering to sell links from their site to other site at relatively high prices, as this is one way of increasing pagerank. However, I read that if Google discover that domains with pagerank are selling links, they will make sure that these links are not counted in the pagerank as a way to discourage buyers since they risk paying money for links that will not give them any benefit. If the threat is working I am not sure, since I am not really sure how widespread a phenomenon this is.

Poor unlucky me! I have been obliged to do a survey of gigantic proportions on behalf of my company. I really don’t care for this sort of thing at all. Nasty work in every respect these surveys. They usually command massive amounts of time and perhaps though actual brainpower is no real requirement sheer patience most definitely is. I’ll probably be using some handy survey tools to be able to pull off the job in anything remotely close to a timely manner. That’s what I’ve been told to do anyhow. Trouble is I don’t know where to look for these fine applications (or whatever they are). Yes, Google the little bastards. But how do I know which ones to use and how? I’ve really got no experience to speak of when it comes to these things.
